Yeah,a line has to be drawn at some point.I don't think the starvation training should go on for months.

Agreed,in fact my first attempt at starving dats resulted in death.I had two young NGT and I hadn't known about starving before learning about it here.I'm not a big fan of feeder fish so it was a welcomed new tactic to me at the time.

I've never let one die but I have tried it and I can never get them to fully convert to pellets cause I don't like starving for long periods. It's always fish fillets , krill, or shrimp. All the stuff I know is what I research or hear from over the years from friends or other owners of dats and my experience with them. It's to bad that a lot of the people ive learned stuff from don't come to the site anymore.

I don't like it either and luckily I have a nice group currently.I've trained most of them pretty easily onto pellets.

Beast takes them with gusto,it's the smaller ST,the one that I got from SA that is so finicky.

Yeah but you know there's people who starve them for months and sometimes there sitting at a pet store forever and just being feed enough to stay alive.

That was the case of mine. Rescued him and started feeding and he grew fast and filled in more.
