jdm fishtanks aren't for every one, but MFK was founded by fish keepers with monster fish and monster tanks the majority of which were jdm style.
Here's one of Li's threads:

Here's an MFK member with mega monster tanks

It was thrilling to watch John build a second 5,000 tank next to his first 5,000 gallon tank. We watched with baited breath when the wall between the two tanks was knocked out, creating a 10,000 gallon tank.

MFK member Ted has big tanks. Here is his thread on building monster tanks

I like his 8,000 gallon tank. Most of the inhabitants are rescues from people who had no business getting fish that would get large. Ted accepted everyone's throw aways.

I wonder how many people doing the bashing on this thread have tanks greater than 1,000 gallons? Are the newer MFK members with their small tanks just more enlightened than the the old timers who shared so freely in the past, but who have absented themselves from MFK in recent years? When did the tide change so drastically?
JDM is not my personal preference, but you will never find me putting down some one else's tank. You point your finger at someone, and you have three pointing back at you. To each his own, I guess. The prevailing hypercritical spirit on MFK is what is keeping some of the best contributors away. Do people really think that putting down someone else's tank scores points with everyone else on MFK?
