:headbang2 FTW!!!

lmao.... dude no monster fish for you in 55 gallon... not saying you can't have a great fish tank!! it's just in your first post u said what monster fish.... so anyways. make a small african tank.... bunch of stones in middle for them to hide... good luck with tank, not trying to be a dick... you could get some convicts, firemouths, and smaller pike or pleco... jewel fish only get 6" so add one of those... just don't overcrowd and give a home for each so they are happy and healthy!! good luck with your tank!

i thought wolffish got large.... or is the red like a smaller varient? and ive slightly looked into the pikes (crenicichla right?) and they seem interesting. ill look into them a little more.
ya the reds get about 6" im pretty sure. crenicichla frenata gets 7-8" and should be fine in a 55. also a shoal of exodons would be pretty cool in a 55

Not sure if you can call it a "monster fish" if it stays 10" or less. Blue Dempsey's are cool. Maybe a large pleco....but they usually get bigger than 10".

once again, a slew of terrible options for a 55G tank . . . Oscars, GTs and Texas cichlids get way too big, and Flowerhorn was probably just a joke . . .

try the approach that you got in one of the earlier posts: think of a "monster" fish, and then find a smaller fish that has similar traits

> GT is a "monster", so try a Blue Acara
> Jaguar is a "monster", so try a Salvini
> Texas is a "monster", so try a Convict . . . ok, that one sux, but you get the idea

I think a solo JD is a definite "maybe", but you might find you don't want to keep a solo anything . . . at least with Blue Acara, Salvni or Convict (or Firemouth), you could consider keeping a pair or adding another fish or two

if thats the case than ill probably just get some aulonocara or haps, or just go with a large group of some mbunas. ive done african cichlids many times before, and they make up 95% of my stock in my other tanks, so i suppose ill just try to get full grown ones this time or perhaps just bigger specimens. thanks for the advice guys
