Monster grass carp spotted! What to use?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
AHHHHHHHHH!
It's agonizing! he's even bigger than I thought!
That's right! BIGGER! He was right up at the shorline where there's a 4 foot drop off. I've always seen him 10+ feet away, seeing him this upclose, (2 feet away at least) I realised he was at least a foot or two bigger. The problem is, he's probably the only grass carp, or maybe a few more in this pond! Meaning there's plenty of food to go around.
I found another place with tons of grass carp, the place is barren of aquatic plants though, and the fish eat pretty much anything you throw at them. No monsters there though.

So my point is, he's maybe 6-7 feet, maybe 8?????
Trust me guys, he was HUGE!!! I'm not used to seeing something in the water so big up close, and I really did jump. What I need to get is a bait
That's so enticing to him that he just has to try it, full or not. One more thing, I NEEEEED THIS FISH!!!

The one's around here are tops 3 feet so no big deal.

We are all waiting for YOU to catch that fish ;). I have heard some are monsters in Florida and have no doubt yours is a monster.

Dont give away the location because you just might see someone with an "I love NY " t-shirt on and a spin casting zebco reel fishing that spot.

That would make one heck of a pic.

You seem to spot it often enough take a camera with you so we can at least get some idea of its size. A distant marker eg tree will do for sizing if you take a pic of the mark with something common that we all know the height of, thus we can the work out angles and its size

Does anybody have these in there aquarium?

have you tryed a baguette the french bread with something on it you can buy them at safeway. we have 2 normal carp koi things that are gigantic in a pond nere me and they only take french bread with goat cheese and catfish smelly stuff you know the things in the bottle that say garlic and other things that it smells like though its a respect thing we always realese it for some one else to catch

A 4ft grass carp can weigh 50lbs and those are rare if this really is 6-8ft it must be 100lb plus. A very fishy story we need a pic of the monster even in the water to back up this claim until you catch and weigh it. If they are illegal in your state you wont be able to claim a record as its an invasive species.

PIC? Any will do so we can judge for ourselves

lol he is telling the truth granted he might be off a foot or so as hard to tell in water but my father in law fishes all over Florida and like many in Florida do tell huge grass carp stories lol.

Destroyer has same problem everyone who targets Florida grass carp has which is they simply wont bite . If the water is the slightest bit murky and he isnt right by it pic wont show much.

I dont work for Destroyer though I just might one day in future if I dont get back to work now lol but he speaks the truth. I actually dont think he will be able to ever catch it they are a pain to catch here.

Thanks louie. :)
I'll try my best to get a picture, but it will be hard.
The water is pretty clear, but a sighting usually last maybe 5 seconds till he spots me, even if I'm not moving. And when I do, the glare is pretty bad. I'm not giving up on you guys, but in florida this won't be easy.
Also, I just figured out about the lake that has a ton of grass carp, they electroshocked the place years ago, stories tell of a 100 pound monster in there that floated up. Although I'm not saying I believe that, it does say there are a lot of monster grass carp to be caught in FL.
