Monster grass carp spotted! What to use?

Have you ever tried taking a picture of an elusive beast who see's you when you see him? And when he see's you, he won't be around for long.
Try doing that on a hot an overcast day, scanning the water for hours, trying your best not to get seen, and carrying polarized sun glasses over you camera lens. First of all, it ain't easy, second of all, I look like a retarted fish geek trying to get a picture of a "6 foot carp" that most people have never heard of.

just read what i suggested i have caught them before. they are about impossible to snag unless u get them close to the tail and then they are hard to land. relax you will get them eventually lol

But remember, this is a very fat and full grass carp, when he sees some mulberry, who cares? It just as good as the algae under his chin. The lake is VERY overgrown. Water crest, hydrilla, everywhere!

im just telling you how ive caught them. when you see him cruising the top just cast way past him without spooking him and reel up in front of him slowly. he will inhale it without thinking twice. my friend snagged one in a farm pond about 6ft and i was waist deep trying to get ahold of it. i touched it 3 times bf it straightened the hook out

Because it's so hard, that's why.
The only grass carp fishing technieque I find easy is bowfishing.

Damn dude I'd offer you some nets from my marine lab but my boss would kill me if a fish punched through a 50' seine (plus catching alligators isn't on my to-do list). If you need heavier rods I may be able to help though. As far as the braided line goes I personally like PowerPro. It's pretty popular in FL and you get some nice castability with incredible strength. Just be sure your rod and reel can hold that fish because the line has ZERO stretch. I use 30lb (diameter of 8lb) for most of my saltwater stuff but you're gonna need the 50lb at least.

Hehe I thought about offering a cast net but I have a feeling this thing would rip it easily. Although I don't know, I've never caught such a large fish in a cast net!
