snappers grow too... what is gonna happen when it gets larger?

if it would get to big i would either release it into the wild or give it to someone that wants a large snapping turtle.

releasing back into the wild is a big no no as it can introduce a whole slew of new parasites and diseases into the wild..

not many people have the capability to take care of a large snapper... theres a reason why the pet stores end up with the monster fish... same goes for turts..

sorry if i seem to be bringing you down, but it just seems like your too young and dont really know how much work this pond will be... the stock list seems like its just whatever you want to throw in there with no regard for compatibility or proper care....

yea i know that my list of things to go in there cant be done because of the compatability and care needed. when i have time to do it i will post a more refined list up onto this thread, maybe tomorrow, that is more specific and i will take some more time picking possible animals. dont worry the snapping turtle will not be on there. there will still be turtles but maybe just one large one like a softshell turtle, if the condition and inhabitants of the tank makes it possible.

Whatever goes in there will have to be larger than the turtles or it will be at risk of being eatin. Also, softshells are very aggressive, they might attack the other turtles. And plecos are a very bad choice with turtles. You might also start thinking about filtration, its going to take a lot to filter something that big.

ok if turtles will be a very bad choice with plecos then i will take the turtles out of the whole plan because i want plecos in there for sure. i will think about filtration if i actually plan on building it in about 10+ years. just in case there is some filtration system out there that someone invents that is significantly better.

That big just do a pool filter. Expensive but can do the 40000+ gallons you are looking at.

Wow  you dream big :D I like it!!!

Cant wait to see what comes of all this, make sure to take lots of pictures if you decide to build it. :naughty:

that would make sense with the filter size. if i was to use pool filters, how many would i need to keep the water clear all the time?

yes i do dream big. i am just making plans, i will not be planning these ideas in the world anytime soon. They are just ideas in my mind for possible ponds.
