Freaking beautiful fish! Wow what a score. I'm glad your daughter is pleased with him too. She's a girl after my own heart! 
It looks like you've got a great setup for him. One thing to be aware of is that the more confident he gets in that tank, the more he might start spitting sand around. If any of it gets in the filter it could damage the impeller.
