It was a double whammy day fishing, in more ways than one. First I knew it was going to be a short day because I have many hours ahead of must do water changes. You know, less fishing and more work.

Second my first hookup resulted in the loss of my last remaining Glass Rap Shad in white, which I purchased plus a few others a few days ago - Hooked up with monster sized PB which promptly managed to take off with the lure and a 45 pound wire leader.:irked: .......and then on my way home, managed to hook myself in the right side of my back with one of the treble hooks from a Glass Shad Rap which I forgot got stucked to my back pack.

Fortunately, I caught a nice sized pair of 14 and 15 inches to make up for it in between to raise the count to 120 for 2007.

Here's pics of both catches and the lure stucked to my t-shirt and back pack!:WHOA:

very nice

Finally landed # 25 monster sized Peacock Bass today. It's the one that got away yesterday and took my Glass Shad Rap. Probably the same one that did the exact same thing two weeks ago.

Spotted it around 8:45 am today guarding and patrolling, minus the lure it took yesterday, around a concrete filled five gallon bucket holding the buoys at Wild Lime Beach, as in yesterday. Hooked it on first cast with my sinking Mirrolure but it got off just before I could land it and disappeared. It took a long time before it came back. While waiting for it, I hooked and landed it's 15 inch mate. After I released the female, the male came back and hovered over their love nest. Was no longer interested in the Mirrolure so I switched to another sinking lure, a Hurricane Livewire rattlebait. Caught it again and landed it this time.

Took it's picture. No problems so far. However when I tried to hold it down to remove the hooks it flipped up and down. It landed back on the sand minus the lure and its hooks. Cool trick right? But where did the lure go?

Felt my left hand tingle, and when I looked down, saw the lure hanging from the back of my hand. Hook went through the skin and went out a half inch to the right.

Here's a couple of the pics, the pic of the female is in my latest catches thread in the fishing section.
