hey, all. I want to start a monster specimen tank it the future, like about next spring, and i'm already thinking of ideas. what fish do you suggest, and how big a tank would I need for it?

What kind of budget, how much space, and what kind of monster (carnivore, aggressive, just big, or monster behavior)?

about $2,000, enough room for up to a 300G, nothing specific as long as it's a monster in any definition.

Hmmm... the tank is going to be the main cost. Getting the tank setup ready for a large fish ready is important. I personally would recommend a fahaka or mbu puffer.

not really, but i've always loved bottom feeders. yeah, I know getting a large tank up and running is gonna be hard... not only the tank, but i'll need a great canister, maybe two, to filter it and I might rig a sump, too.

if cost isnt too big an issue, why dont start breeding stingrays. if not that, how about a sexed pair of arowanas.

I just want one fish, plus i'm not rigged up to start a breeding operation, even thought i'd love to help take pressure off wild caugth fish.

Flowerhorn are the obvious choice for a one fish fishtank.

How about a largemouth? Or a pike.?
that sounds neat, I don't flowerhorns up here much, though. if by largemougth you mean largemouth bass, they don't live up here, and the native pikes get way huge, like 5 feet long.
