MONSTER TANK MANUFACTURERS

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I was wondering what everybody's consensus was on the bottom piece acrylic thickness....., and also top piece thickness on aquariums.

I have heard before that people sometimes choose to use thicker pieces on the top of a acrylic aquarium because of the risk of this piece sagging and buckeling/warping due to gravity and acrylics ability to absorb water over time. Does anyone know if this helps/works...., or is it not worth the extra cost.
Also "most" tank manufacturers use thinner acrylic on the bottom of aquariums because this piece does not bare much burden when it comes to water pressure.., compared to the sides that take all of the pressure... I have seen that 1/2" thick is commonly used. Does everybody think this is a bad idea to skimp on.... or does it not really matter. I'm wondering if I should continue with 3/4" on this bottom piece to keep all the pieces at this thickness....

What does everybody think....?? Thanks guys-n-gals...........

I'm no tank builder but my 300 from MCA is 3/4" on sides, top and bottom.

Anywhere form $2,100 to $4,000 (before shipping) for a 8'x4'x2'...., depending on the thickness of the acrylic.....
