**lil Update**

So I got the pima in a new 400 gallon tank I built for the winter, Seems to be settling in well. He'll ride out the winter in here then go back into the 3000 gallon pool come spring. He's doing real well and eats ANYTHING.. Defiantly not a picky fish...

What happens next winter with the Arapaima? It will be to big for the 400? Can't wait for the new build :headbang2

Right... These things grow faster than any fish I have ever owned.. But I will be buying a house next summer...WITH A HUGE BASEMENT!! So tired of fighting the cold in the garage plus the house we live in now is a cheap cookie cutter house with an awful electrical system (always tripping breakers) for no good reason... Hate it!! So I'll be looking for a new house and a must is a huge basement I can transform into an amazing fish space with many huge tanks, pools and pounds. Like I said before I have designs almost ready to go on a 5000 gallon built in place tank & system but would like to go as big as 15,000 - 20,000 gallons if the space allows. And I have already started building my 600 gallon, the 400 went so smooth and quick, so I'd exspcet the same for my 600gal build. That could be done over the next month, so he'll end up in as lil as a months time.. I'm not too worried, I will stay in fount of this monster, even if I have to throw up a 20'x4' pop up pool in the basement for him until the builds are done. Sometimes I wish I lived in a warm state... Hardest element to deal with is the temperature to be honest..and the only worry I really have. I have and am still seriously thinking of moving to Florida when I get a chance, just so I could build huge tanks / pools to put my fish in or set up a huge green house with giant DIY tanks where I wouldn't have to worry about getting to cold.. That's my real dream but right now I'm stuck in CO fighting for my to kids in a Divorce and probably won't have an option to leave until they are a few years older due to parenting / joint decision making.

It's funny because I don't think I'm ever going to stop going bigger and bigger with these builds...hahahaha...Guess that's what happens to most of us huh..lol

Right on! You have the right additude :)

Could you post up a thread on that 600 build? I really love that 400 you built and I would love to get some tips from you.

very nice fish, only other guy i follow that has one is TLkmDN, he posts vids on youtube & updates regularly on MFK. for any new comers to the hobby, he had an article in TFK magazine. highly recommended reading: http://www.tfhmagazine.com/freshwat...ing-in-the-fishkeeping-hobby-full-article.htm

as a fish keeper you can relate to his experiences & no matter how long you've been in the hobby you can always learn something new.

again nice fish & i'll be watching for your updates too! happy fish keeping!
