Monsters for my 55

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I've had my BGK in my 55 for almost 2 years now. Got it at like 3in and now its pushing 10in. A BGK would be a good addition, granted I have larger tanks to put it in if it gets too large but he's a great fish and so much fun to watch and especially watch eat.

The only non cichlid fish I can think of for a 55 would be a sculpin. But honestly cichlids are awesome, why wouldn't you want them?

I wanna ry something different I already have cichlids

you could go with a pickerel, had one in the past and it was pretty motionless until food (live fish) was in the tank and then he would strike like lighting, but green sunfish are also a really cool native to have that are pretty predatory, they will eat anything and I mean anything that moves and will fit in their mouth

BGK needs a minimum of 90g, I moved mine from a 90 to a 125 though. Forget the fahaka, needs 120+. Other FW puffers are pretty sedentary & would be a waste of a 55g.
