Moonlight tanks

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I am surprised that it seems nobody uses moonlighting in F/W tanks!!! I don't think that it would cause any noticeable algae growth, or any at all. I use them in my reef tanks, and its great because it simulates a more natural environment for the aquatic live inhabiting them. With many timers available you can really tune them to simulate the particular region of the wold from where your species come from.

you will see moonlighting in a FW tank soon thats my next plan i'm gettin shivers down my spine just looking at those pics

this is my workin progress tommorow i will be building the light hood and finding a way to do the moon lighting in my tank......are all of the lights in the hood or are any of you using under water leds???

I've been thinking about getting an ordinary light bulb and dipping it in food die to get that moonish color. I'm thinking red or purple It's a toss up. What do you think will look better, a Oscar and Texas in red or purple?

i'm picking up an actinic bulb to set up a new light unit on my front tank it will go with 2 white, ill get pics up this weekend
