A man was bitten in NJ by an Albino Monocled Cobra. He was keeping them illegally, this is probably the worst thing for the hobby. This just shows the irresponsibility of certain people and how it effects the whole community. Read the article your self.

Wow, just highlights why not to treat venomoids with any less caution than you would a natural snake. I wonder if the guy who sold them to him as devenomed will be charged, assuming that the story isn't just a cover for having dangerous animals.

That does suck! He thought the "VENOM SACKS" were removed??? What an ahole. I feel worse for the snakes. I am a venom junky however I am responsible and don't believe in importing or keeping wild critters. I do study the hell out of them and handle wild specimens. I feel that there is a certain animal for everyone but clearly not for this guy! In my opinion venomous reptiles should only be kept as pets by highly experienced handlers. Sweet post!!!

Besides that fact that he is an *** that one mistake is going to affect the whole reptile community. All it is is bad press for us. Idiots like this make me sick. Yeah I have seen this. It is another nail in the coffin against venomoids though (which is a good thing). Since they were already being kept illegally, I think that the press will understand that he was irresponsible and not hold it against all keepers (I hope).
