Welp, here we go again. The last time I ordered an acrylic tank I got sent a bathroom sink as a substitute and my real tank was sent to someone at a different address. After a lot of mixups it all worked out.

So now my 50 gallon SeaClear acrylic tank is a no-show through Amazon. It was due for delivery Feb 27th and never arrived. Tracking was useless through the automated system with UPS. "Your item is on the way, delivery by 9pm." For almost 3 days. Then, "Sorry there is a delay with your item. Delivery reschedued on or before 9pm. If you don't recieve by tomorrow please return and ask for a refund."

So here's what I know which isn't much. It went to the Baltimore facility, then was transported to the local facility (Landover MD) since the 27th. You heard me right. It received a label, then was in transit but 'not delivered.'. Wtf.

When I didn't receive it yesterday by 9pm (nor did I expect to) I was fed up and called Amazon, explaining the situation. They saw that the tank was never delivered. The 2nd level supervisor approved my refund. They were pretty hot about it and plan to file a formal complaint with escalation against UPS. The customer service rep helping me said she thought it was strange UPS didn't simply report the item lost. My refund should show on or before Wednesday. Prices for acrylic tanks are ridiculous now. You'd almost do better to get a bigger tank instead of a smaller one for the value! The price on the Seaclear was good so I figured why not.

It's either lost or stolen. Considering the ludicrous prices of acrylic tanks now due to low material supply nothing would surprise me. So it's back to square one...guess I'll head to Tanks Direct.

Eff UPS. :swear:

Tanks Direct is 10 minutes from my home. Talked to them before, seem like decent folks. Want an acrylic tank just have not been able to wrap my head around the cost.

Amazon is the one that has been dropping the ball on my orders lately. I ordered a divider for the fish tank on the 15th of Feb for next day or second day delivery it got shipped, then “delayed” in a storm by the 23rd I already went to the hardware store and made my own divider and asked for immediate cancellation and refund and just got alert yesterday that they officially returned the item and Im a prime member. 🤨 its not the first time though i had a hard to find part order and was supposed to be delivered 2 months later and they cancelled it the day it was supposed to be delivered acting like i never ordered it in the first place smh

SeaClear is the least expensive brand overall. Tanks Direct is acttually one of the cheaper places!

Same happened to my guitar…tracking number changed multiple times, then disappeared, then was in no man’s land, then a new tracking number with no progress. Took a month then I finally got a refund. Bunch of crook sellers out there

How does SeaClear stack up against the more expensive brands?

It's the most reasonable in price point. They do have some issue with the top bracket bowing a bit over time but it's not a deal killer for me. The tanks are solid and I've had no problems. Clear for Life is amazing quality with nearly no deflection. Pricier than Seaclear but worth it...sometimes you can get a deal on holidays/specials. If ordering custom go up in size based on sheet cut. I found this out ordering my "fat" 125. It's 20" wide and I could've gotten 22" for the same price but it would be a bit too fat for the location its in.

People have to understand ALL plastics will deform a bit from heat generated by lights, especially leds. I've seen all the screaming meemies with their reviews DONT BUY THIS THE TOPS BEND UP!!! You can get sheet glass cut for a cover as an alternative. It's not as big a deal as people make. It's more noticecable in smaller tanks (40 gal or less) over time. I'm talking about the SeaClear. No issues for me at all.

I purchased a hair dryer for my wife for mother's day through Amazon and was sent a box of Beet Chips perfectly packed with no label. I was mad as hell because I told my wife her gift was on it's way.
I've heard of theft at Amazon from different people and a family member. The thing I really was upset about not having a label so that I could get refunded.
It took me awhile to shop through Amazon again and had another missed shipment which was krill and other fish related items.
Fortunately was refunded but a little disappointed because I had to by the krill at a higher price at the lfs.
Hopefully whoever is stealing and swapping items gets caught and fired immediately!
