These specific darters and dace are hard to come by. Depending where you are at, they may be in your backyard.

Which ones specifically? MRBD is found in WV, NC, but mostly VA. You will find most of the nice darters in the Tennessee Valley and surrounding areas.

OMG! I know. Isn't it ridiculous how many people think they can keep a fish that gets 4' plus just because it is native? Look up boys there is a great alternative.

I've had enough of seeing people asking about if they can keep pike/muskie/tiger muskie but usually don't see questions about grass/redfin pickerels. Both pickerels are under the same genus as the pikes but only reach a fraction of the size. They're mini pikes for crying out loud!

Speaking of pickerel, I need to find out if I can take grass pickerels from this pond I know of...

I used to think only tropicals were interesting and worth keeping...untill I caught a bluegill that I added to a 10 gallon(don't wsorrty, I gave him to the park ranger with a 250 gallon instead of killing him in that tiny tank)BOY doid that bluegill change my opinion on natives. Now my pumpkinseed has his own nice 55 gallon tank and I like him more than most of my tropicals!
