Yea i agree with this thread totally... ive been on vacation here in the states for a couple weeks and ive been fishing a lot. I have caught so many fish that I thought were so pretty I would definitly keep them. like every sunfish is awesome... great colors if the water and food supply is good.

do any of u guys keep american eels...
trying to get my mom to let me take a pictre of mine

Ilike to occasionally bring top minnows home to my aquarium, the only problem is they beat up my moor so they go right back. lol

I've seen this one kind of minnow, it ALMOST looks like a mini trout, but it's fins are silvery, and they have black tips. I live in Lower Michigan. Does anybody know what these are? I don't have any pics, but the next time I go to my fiance's parents, I'll get some.

Its amazing how many people dont know how easy minnows are to catch and how pretty they are...just as pretty as any freshwater fish you can buy at a store, but they are free! also, they are just as easy to keep. just go to a lake with a butterfly net, and boom! you have yourself a great new pet!

Please understand that when you put a fish in a tank with other fish at home, you're passing along disease and pestilence to the wild fish. If you return the fish you can very well pass that disease to wild populations. It's also AGAINST THE LAW TO RELEASE FISH INTO THE WILD

You're right that many have no Idea how many beautiful fish we have right in out streams and lakes. I want to warn you that some fish really need to be left in the water since they can be endangered or threatened. A good ID book and brushing up on ID skills will help a whole bunch in making sure you don't take fish in danger of extinction.
