mosquito fish they will last the winter we have them in our pond and they do just fine

Just go out to local creek or river and catch some Blackstriped topminnows. Or just some kind of minnow. Most any small native fish will eat mosquito larva.

Also a lot of central and south american cichlids eat mosquito and mosquito larvae.

gouramis in my experience eat mosquitoes and its larva

okay cool. well I kind of want a fish that wont need a heater and wont get huge, the pond is a nice size but not that big. but the mosquitos in our back yard are horrible because of it. Ill clean it up this weekend and go to the petstore and pick up some of these fish and try them out and see how they do.

Only get native fish. You have to remember that if they are not a cold water species they will die when it is cold.

will blue gill? my dads friend has a huge pond with a bunch in there and there are a bunch of baby sized ones i culd tell my dad to ask him if we could get one. and then at winter just put back in his pond and do that everywhere, since his blue gill spawn like rabbits lol
