I would like to belive that we could repell a corrupt government but I also live in the real world and if a country like Iraq couldn't stand up to us what makes people think that we could stop our military.

The only thing that keeps the goverment from crushing us under the boot is the fact that our soilders wouldn't follow the order.

As for the Germans it would have given the Jews a chance to take some of the soilders with them but in the end most went to the camps without knowing what awaited them untill it was too late.

I'm 19 , so i can be a little opinionated on things.

I appreciate your argument that the constitution does not allow each person to own a gun. However I DO disagree with you. You made some good points and have well thought out ideas. I just happen to disagree with your definition of “militia”.

That wasn't my definition on militia. If you read the link, that's the constitutions definition on militia. I don't think militia's even exist anymore. Just the National Guard right.

Since they could never have imagined our government being as large as it is today, they couldn’t possibly create the constitution to define all of our rights hundreds of years ago. IMO we should decide that the constitution doesn’t guarantee us the right to have guns nor forbid it either. Then each state should decide for it’s self how to handle the issue. I’m willing to bet that most if not all (even the blue states) would allow law-abiding citizens to own guns for protection. Most current guns owners might not like this idea though. Again, JMO.

I like that concept. Very well thought out. Let each state decide for itself. I don't think guns would be allowed in most states in New England, but thats just my opinion. Southern states on the other hand. meh.
