Most Active/Intelligent Doradid?

My niger is the most active, outgoing fish in my tank and has been since he was purchased. He is 21" long now and acts just like an Oscar. As soon as I enter the room he is up begging for food. He even eats off the top and throws water everywhere. He will let me pet him if I want to but I don't.

I had a Niger that was fairly active and was always out when food was in the tank.

I would not call him dumb or a log

That's... the complete opposite of other people's opinions on these guys. Grrrrr.
