Yeah you are right i'll keep my sandbox.. i would rather be creative than have a tank that looks like a bland river bed, but we all have are own ideas that's cool as far as festae...there was a client of mine who had a 20plus inch festae in a 300 gallon tank..it was absolutley massive! but rather you believe me or not thats ok i know what i saw and that's all i care about. 7000 gallons very cool and nice midas cichlids. i just don't deal with cichlids by the way i also deal with marine triggers, puffers, groupers, tang, batfish, eels, various marine sharks, cowfish, angels, to name a few not to mention wildlife and various reptiles so i'm diverse.

That doesn't really mean your diverse, and I doubt Festaes reach even past 18 inches, and if you have a pic to prove festaes being over 18", show us, if not then shut up about it. And oh wow, you're diverse. I deal with sand hill cranes, guanacos, capybaras, capybaras, pythons, kingsnakes, lizards, lots of mammals, macaws, parrots, and my own pets. I work at the El Paso Zoo, where I am a volunteer, but I do exhibit hosting for all sorts of animals. I've helped clean animal exhibits and I go behind the scenes every once and awhile. So, in a way, I'm more diverse then you, and I actually care about my fish being in suitable tanks. My 55 gallon is overstocked, but I don't plan on keeping all of them when they get big enough. I'm basically growing them out for other people locally that want them. I'd rather do a bio-tope then stock my tank with just fish. Which I did stock my tank, but I've been working with, rearranging the tank and trying out stuff. And I've gotten all my fish to eat within the first day, not my salvinis. Some people like the look of a bland river bed as it's soothing and doesn't get adrenaline pumping and you getting scared hoping your fish are alright.

Dude...cage cleaner...you seriously need to take it down a notch. This isn't a "my pecker is bigger than your pecker" conversation. We are real happy that you enjoy your job. Now chill.

Wow! I'm shocked at your aggressive response firemouth, but we all have differing views i may disagree with aquamojo on some things but based on the condition of his midas cichlids the man has my upmost respect, they are stunning specimens indeed..and as far as proving about seeing a 20 plus inch festae i don't have to prove anything to anyone! and to anyone that may have been offended by my comments on 'bland decorations' i truly apologize i should have used better clarity to explain my point.

In my experience, festaes are the most aggressive cichlid, especially in breeding mood. I just cut down my festae population to one pair from the previous 5. They were causing serious damage to themselves in my 1000G. The way they chased each other even when so much space was available was crazy.

They didn't show much aggression until they reached 10". My Dovii's coexist much nicer in the same tank.

what is the most aggressive cichlid
hi members and non members:) i didnt get a chance to read everyones posts, but u all had alot of differences on the most aggresive cichlid.well i been keepin cichlids for about a few years or more and i had red devils, jags, flowerhorns, jack ds,mostly all the aggressive cichlids i could find, except a festae"true red terror"i thought i had one before but it turned out to be a uro or somethin like that.to make a long story short,i would have to say a "DOVII"would be the most aggresive cichlid to me.mine has killed every fish i just named and then some, which were the same size or maybe bigger.i see it like this,if u compare all these fish at the size of 10inch,i really think they all would kill each other, bcuz all fish the way i see it gos wacko at 10inch.so the question for the most aggressive cichlid would be quite difficult if your not comparin all these fish at 10inch:headbang2

psh!! only 4 choices!! theres alot of more aggressive cichlids. and it all depends on the fish!! these are the fish you should put up!!

#1.Petenia umbriferum/umbi
#2.citrinellum/red devil
#3.Cichlasoma haitiensis/black nasty
#4.Cichlasoma festae/red terror
#5.Cichlasoma dovii/wolf cichlid
#6.Cichlasoma trimaculatum/trimac
