I have a spare 80g (3x2x2) that I'm thinking of setting up in my office and I want an interactive "wet pet" type fish for it. I find really aggressive fish so a dwarf SH has come to mind or a red wolf tho i haven't seen 1 before... I'm not that into cichlids so would prefer something a bit more unique, I have also considered an oscar as 1 cichlid I like but I feel it would be a bit cramped when full grown.

Looking forward to your suggestions :)

Oscar is fine in a 80 gallon full grown as long as you don't have anything in with it. I am mostly into cichlids so I am not sure what to suggest but I used to have a lion fish in a SW tank that was a pretty cool unique wet pet. you could also do 2 green spotted puffers is you are willing to go brackish. They are amazing wet pets very dog like.

I will be keeping whatever I get alone as a wet pet type setup so an oscar is an option :)

I've always wanted a SW set up but I want something low maintenance and from what I've seen it's quite costly to run one? A lion fish would be cool tho!

Didn't even think if going brackish so that will open a few more options :) what does a brackish tank require? Is it the same as fresh but obviously added salt and I'm guessing a meter to test salinity? I will research the puffers

Gold banded maroon clown fish and an anemone. Anytime I reach in the tank they bite me like crazy. More than any other fish. They are fearless.

I got out of salt because the maintenance wasn't worth it to me. Just thought I would through out the option. I am enjoying my new world cichlids much more.

For brackish tank - Salt and a hydrometer and you are good to go. Its good to have a bucket and pump to pre mix the salt but not necessary.

I saw someone suggested fahaka and they are cool but you will have to eventually upgrade your tank. I bought a fahaka and unfortunately I found it very boring it just laid around until it was time to eat. But that was mine I don't know if they are all like that.

My girlfriend would love it if I got any type of "nemo" lol what is the maintenance for a marine? And would I need wave makers, timed day/night lights, skimmer etc?
