It has got to be a Marine Barracuda. There are over twenty variants to choose from, they are not all six foot monsters. Some only grow to a foot in lenght.
I really love the appearance of Dragon Wrasses. Especially as they get bigger.. The majority of super deep water fish get extra points for their weirdness.
No a pistol shrimp with a pair of gobies from the Stonogobius (sp?) genus. The gobies and the shrimp work together.
If I could do any tank with the coolest thing ever in it.... i know several people have said this already but the mantis shrimp wins my vote:
mudskippers are one of the most interesting animals I have ever kept. They are brackish water animals that love shallow water and live in sandy dunes along low tide shores. They will readily take prepared foods and go nuts over live foods.
