the picture of the sea dragon is the leafy sea dragon. you can tell by the green apendages like seaweed. the more expensive one is the weedy sea dragon which has pinky orange colour.

House of Fins has at least 30 fish between 800-3000 dollars....All Saltwater and no mammals! Puffers, rare Angels.....never seen anything like it. A candy store for rare....and overpriced....fish.

They guy in my avatar was $2,500.

Seriously?

Over priced?

Or is that just what they are worth? What was the size on the bugger when you got him?

Whether or not they are overpriced is a tough thing to judge when no one else has the same fish. With normal fish you can get them everywhere so any place that doesn't have the cheapest price is overpriced. With this place and fish like Gem tangs, Clarion angels, Conspicuous angels, goldback triggers, etc. you can't get them anywhere so if you want them you have to pay the going rate. It's only overpriced if you are mad that you bought it and in that case you shouldn't have bought it. Also, people always want what they can't have so if they have the money they will buy it to have something no one else does. Even when the fish doesn't even look that cool really like a Conspic angel. Beautiful, but not amazing.

I have heard quite a bit about House of Fins and what amazes me is what the store looks like. If you go to their website the pics of the store look like a standard store and nothing special really. Yet, they get all the craziest stuff in from all over the place. Wish that store was in my backyard just for entertainment purposes.

Lol, I have no idea what they're worth. There aren't any in the US, and I'd been looking for a source for 6 years... when I finally found a guy that would send me some, I imported them myself. The guy I bought them from is notoriously expensive, and then all the other costs and fees associated with importing live animals racked it up. I actually wanted to buy 10, but that would still be almost 1,500 an animal, and there's no way I could resell them and make money at that price.

Right now I'm working with a guy in NZ that might be able to get me Enchelycore ramosa... I'm hoping that's going to a teensy bit cheaper.

The guy in the pic is closing in on 4 feet.

House of Fins is over priced. Even their common stuff is an arm and a leg. I have been there many times. I mean 5k for a dragon eel thats a little too much money. The reason they command those prices is because they are in Greenwitch CT. IMO one of the wealthiest towns in the north east if not the USA. Just to give you an idea... There is a Ferrari and Bentley dealer next door.

Anyway the most expensive fish I was every quoted a price on was a galapagos Shark and that was $11,000 but I went with a bull shark instead and ended up with about 9 grand wrapped up in the whole thing.

Sorry...Whoever said that a blue whale can fit in a 500m tank...wtf.
Whales and sharks (basking/whale) should /not/ be kept in aquariums PERIOD imo. It's just cruel.

Ahhh, that explains it. Then they can offer overpriced stuff and get away with it. That is also why they have the money to bring in all that expensive stuff too.
