Here's mine.

A while back, I was out shopping and enjoying my day off, I came home that night and decided to say good night to my friends. I went down stairs and noticed my Paradise Gourami was missing, from my Inwall tank.

I walked around to tar apart the tank to find him, only to notice him on the floor. He was dry stiff as board and covered in dust, I almost didn't even ID him as a fish, looked like a clump of dirt.

It was clear he had been there for a while, and was dead, so not rushing I went up stairs to get a baggy to put him in, when I reached down to get him he moved ever so slightly; I almost didn't even notice. So I quickly throw him back into the tank where he floated for about 2 minutes before starting to stager around the tank. He lived.

After I was mad at my self, because I just assumed he was dead, and never stopped to remember he was Labyrinth Fish.

Wow.

Few days back someone posted another fantastic recovery.

Bottom line...............Dont give up.

Never underestimate the tenacity of anabantoids! They are the very definition of tough-as-nails.

I had a convict do the same thing... His fins were so dry that they were cracked... He looked like cat poo.... He lived.

damn same happened to me with a bala, he was out of water for less than 20 mins...put him right back in, crazy internal bleeding all over fins and body and died next am. Crazy how long yours lived tho!

same hear aswell had an 8 inch koi jump out while transporting him hard as a rock not moving or anything but i put him in anyway he lived after 10 min of working wit him and he could somewhat swim

this is a save but not of the fish escaping kind. someone i knew had her silver molly go missing, and we tore the tank apart looking for it. finally we saw what appeared to be a tail inside a small shell. we take the tail out and sure enough there was the molly super stuc head first in the sprial shell. we tried to pull it out by the tail but that didnt work, we finally decided it was either die in there or there was only was one last resort. We gave the shell a good wack against a counter and it cracked in such a way that it didnt hurt the molly. molly went back in tank fine as ever.

I think the difference between the bala and the Gourami , is the Gourami breaths air, from the surface. So while its body was getting jacked up it was still able to breath out of the water

I haven't had any real saves yet..
