Most Nervous, Spastic, Glass Shattering Fish youve Kept??

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Pictus and white line pim cats. This may be different in larger groups but mine spazed out often despite their some-what small size. I had to move them out of the 75g when I got the panaque and put them in a 29g. Though the 29g looks large enough...especially for the pictus...they would spaz out and jet around the tank. I would never keep them in a small tank again.

The prize has to go to my 2 TSNs whenever something bumps the glass, bumps into them during cleaning, or otherwise startles them they go absolutely crazy. They slam into the glass and them spastically turn around and slam into the other end ot the tank. Sometimes they even do a lap slamming their heads into the glass from corner to corner. Ever wonder why you see TSN's with their shovels all bent out of shape? I sure know why now, although mine havent damaged themselves yet (fingers crossed). ;)
My TSN does the same thing. I try and be very slow and calm when I get near him with the gravel vac, but when I get within 2" of him, all hell breaks loose, and then I spaz out! :swear: You'd think he would haul ass to the other end and stop and wait 'till I'm done, but oh no!, he has to go round and round a few times. Getting a bit of a flat spot on his nose. :swear:

my apollo sharks freak out at night time. I had three, now I have 2, one jumped out. i stepped on him barefoot in the dark, i thought i was gonna @#$$. they splash all night.

Ive had nervous Aros, Pacus, 4 line cats, an plecos. But by far IMO Pacus an Aros can be the most Spastic fish.

I have had some very skittish spotted Puffers.. But after a while, they just learn to beg for food.. My Figure-8 still freaks out if you get too close to the glass, but from far away it begs.. Crazy eh?

My 24 inch leichardti especially at feeding. Always banged up against the glass and sent a wave of water of the side.

He really did used to shatter glass too.

red-bellied pacus for sure, I cant even go within 3 feet of the tank without them freaking out. And they're so dumb, I've been the one feeding them for the past 4 months and they still hide from me.

IMHO , Arows and Red Bellied Pacus are some of the most nervous, excitable fish I've owned. The arow would have the water in the tank rippling and splashing all over the place just cause the dog walked in the room. Forget it if yu actually tried getting close to the glass to feed him. they atre a trip. Susan :screwy:
