Most Overated Movie

If you have to read a book to watch a movie then the movie is an absolute failure, no ifs ands or buts abut it.

I have yet to see a movie better than its book. That being said. The movie got the books main message across. But to truly appreciate it as a Kubrick flim, you have to have knowledge from the book.

I understand why so many people did not like this movie.

It was Kubrick at his finest. Read the book, make sure it has the last chapter, then watch it again. Such an amazing movie, and drugs are not needed.

Yep. Loved the book, liked the movie a lot.

Full Metal Jacket, The Shining, even A.I. (watchable) were Kubrick films. I liked all of those, but Clockwork Orange must have been over my head. I never read the book, but good book does not = good movie. For example Jurassic Park (watchable) and Congo (don't bother), both good books by a good author, but not great movies.

avatar in 3D was an awesome experience, so i'm with eddie

I think full metal jacket is way overrated. the boot camp/basic training part of the movie was the best part, after that it went down hill. only good thing about after the fat guy killed the sarg and himself was the "me so horny" girl

The response of "heaps of people like it so it must be good" only furthers my opinion of it being overrated cause that's exactly what overrated means. This is only my opinion and I do not like 3D movies. Also I watched Avatar in both 2D and 3D and like neither, if I want a lush 3D environment I'll simply head outside.

why did you even watch it twice? this doesn't even make sense....i hated the movie so much so i watched it again? you know what i do what movies i don't like...i don't even finish them

And yes, the amount of people that watch a movie is a tell tell sign of if it's making a connection with people. sometimes it's because a movie is just horrid or hype, that wasn't the case here. i literally felt like i was being unplugged from my avatar body when i took my 3d glasses off. haha

Naw, a lot of people rewatch a movie if the first time was in 3D ... either the 3D gives them violent headaches in which case the dislike of the movie may not be due to the movie itself, or because it's a movie where you have to pay attention to the background stuff which the 3D makes blurry so the plot makes no sense.

Lmao, you'd still get gist of the movie and should know its not something you find interesting.

Anyways, i cant watch avatar on tv or blu ray but if they rereleased it in 3D id camp out for a week living on nothing but NLS

As for my choice ... I'd have to say Pulp Fiction *dodges incoming debris*

I like it, it's funny, great cast. Just not in the top 10 that a lot of lists put it at IMO.
