Most Overated Movie

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
agree fellowship is the best one. the hobbit just has too many characters. it's a bit over saturated. but i'll watch the next ones

how the heck does one keep up? I don't even remember how many hobbittses there was, let alone know anyone's names besides Bilbo

I just know there's Bilbo, the prince hobbit, a couple of old ones, a couple of fat ones and a couple of non fat ones

Good question. My first thought when I heard they were breaking the hobbit into three movies was "dear gawds why????" ... well other than the obvious money making aspect. But using your comment, it kind of makes sense. It would be really hard to keep track of everyone through one 3 hour movie with the sheer amount of chars in the book. So it makes sense for that aspect at least. Plus, the money.

your lush 3d environment looked like that? come on now!

Do you go outside, you know the real world. Yes the world is lush and 3D just lacking the alien plants.

why did you even watch it twice? this doesn't even make sense....i hated the movie so much so i watched it again? you know what i do what movies i don't like...i don't even finish them
I watched it the first time with my misses in 2D and didn't enjoy the movie. Then for my mothers 50th see asked that the family just went out for dinner and a movie and she picked Avatar in 3D, I knew I wasn't going to enjoy it but it was her 50th and sitting through 2.5hrs of uninspired crap is well worth her getting what she wants.

And yes, the amount of people that watch a movie is a tell tell sign of if it's making a connection with people. sometimes it's because a movie is just horrid or hype, that wasn't the case here. i literally felt like i was being unplugged from my avatar body when i took my 3d glasses off. haha

So all the other hit movies that have been mentioned like titanic, ironman, scarface and so on. Because they are popular the people who say they are overrated are wrong. A film that flops cannot be overrated because it is rated poorly, you do understand the concept right? Or maybe it just up to you which films are good or not and no one else can voice an OPINION against yours. Maybe we should give you a crown of leaves and you can give a thumbs up or down if you like them...

How far down the list do we have to go before you decide that people can think the film is overrated.

I say the honnit is great, however a lot of animals were harmed during the production

Some animals died from uncontrollable circumstances, ie wild dogs killing chickens and a horse shredding it's leg in a barbwire fence. Those kinds of things are not uncommon at all. Accidents happen. The neglect/abuse allusions came from an unreliable source (a fired employee) and were never proven.

Sent from my mind to my fingers to my phone to the MFK servers to you

All of these are peoples opinion, every single post. theres no right or wrong answer, we're all just voicing our personal taste. im not the first person whos disagreed with someones choice in this thread, Yet im the lone person youve decided to call out

Agreed, no one should over react here. It's supposed to be fun, a fun thread just give an opinion and then go check out the cichlid forum or what ever you keep. Plenty to debate over in the fish sections and some of it may actually contribute the forum as a whole.

I agree totally. It is clear may of us like totally different genres. You pick anything from the current fantasy line up (Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, etc) and I'm not going to care for it. I also think we a missing the measure by which we are discussing overrated. Is it by popularity or critic rating. Many of the movies we began discussing are no longer popular, so I assumed we were going by critic ratings. Many of the newer movies that came up recently never had great critic reviews, but were very popular with viewers. It is a discussion without metrics, which maybe is the way it should be. It's all tast opinion anyway, right?:)
