Most personable fish?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Small Oscars just crack me up. I have a shoal of Tiger Barbs that greet me at the tank and follow my face around. My Arowana is very personable, I have him in a tank by my bed and I always see him, "watching over me." Sometimes my Longfinned Sengal gets goofy. So, Small Oscars, Tiger Barbs, Arowana and Longfinned Sengal :)

Esse says "My flowerhorn is very smart, with tons of personality.
My Oscar is smart, ornery, moody, pissed off, sulks, and is psycho.
On a very close vote I pick Flowerhorn."

Sounds like you met my wife, but her name is not Oscar.

And psycho IS a personality.:nilly:

Good thing she doesn't read this forum... much.
An I guess that is a reason for keeping the couch and not adding another tank. Sleeping in 130 gallons of water doesn't sound that fun.

You'll just have to invest in a wet suit and a snorkel as well ;)

The most personable fish I have now is my "Koi" Angelfish...even more so than my Betta. He flies to the front of the tank to beg (demand?) food...sulks...gets ticked off...has good moods and bad...

Still considering a Green Terror (vs. EBJD) for my 90...those who have them seem to think they are personable...

Fancy Goldfish! I have a big male Calico Ryukin who always does a cartwheel when he sees me. But all my Goldies are very friendly and personable. I also like my Blue Leg hermit crabs- but I dont think its me they love, when I open the hood to feed them, they all rush to the front of the tank, leaping off rock piles, throwing eachother aside. Its entertaining.

My Discus are like having a litter of 9 puppies in an aquatic puppy pen.
As soon as they see me walk into the room, they zoom up to the front of the glass to greet me.
When I do their daily water change, they rub against and nibble my hand.

most puffers are like puppies... but of the fish i have now
my Severum (efaciatus) is the most friendly to me, my betta will come up to the tank and if he is mad at me will either sit in the front looking away swim up until i notice him and then go hide.... he also loves to sit right in front of the camera haha...
but i think the severum is more personable
