Rare in the wild or in shops? In shops I would have to say just about all fishes native to the U.S. and Canada except for a select few livebearers and killifish and fathead minnows. I cannot think of virtually any European species regularly on the market either. The cichlids of Madagascar come to mind as well.

snakeheads are hard to find in ontario. have been banned for the last few years. People are releasing them into the great lakes and they are breeding..
