big fan of them! For sure! I wish natives were as common in the hobby as tropicals! It's kinda weird they aren't more prevalent when you think about it. Ultimate Dream Fish on Instagram is a great place to see and learn about native fish. So many beautiful species there that I wasn't even aware of!
Gulper catfish, people think they don’t live long or are hard to keep. Personally I have a awesome relationship with mine and he’s pretty easy to take care of.
I’ve had him since April 10th this year. So it’s been a little while, I just meant I have not had any problems with him.How long have you had him? I constantly read that they don't seem to last long in captivity for even experienced keepers. Unless you have been successful for at least a year or more, I wouldn't be claiming victory with an iffy species like that.
Postings from folks who got a fish last week or last month, and now feel like it's time for the world to learn their husbandry secrets, are actually a bit silly. My wife typically buys big, lush, beautiful houseplants. A year later, they are spindly twigs with a couple of tiny dessicated leaves clinging to them. She proudly proclaims they are "doing fine".
Her definition and my definition of "fine" are somewhat varied.
Totally agree! They are all deemed as “too aggressive” so nobody gets to truly accept them for what they are. Really saltwater equivalent to mbuna in my opinion.A lot of fairly common damsels are underrated in my opinion because everyone thinks of them as a cycler fish and not a pet in their own right. A school is actually very nice to watch.
That’s a nice one! I’ve never heard of those!another cool some what predator is the coppernose barb if I could find a group I would have them
