I don't really see a problem with the grading system to differentiate quality in variants.. however, plastering a fancy name on a fairly common ray (see TFDfish) in order to inflate the price is pretty lame.

If we didn't differentiate variants in dogs, it might be the same issue..
"I have a brindle Dane"..
"No, you just have a great Dane, they all the same"..
"well no mine is a brindle its a bit different, and my friend has a reverse brindle!"..
"Nope, nope.. all great Danes are just great Danes no difference in quality, some just might have different colors"..





It really is just up to the buyer if they want to pay more or not.. just as long as it's not used as a deception tactic

with a dog you are right and anyone can see the color difference

its what make a motoro a black motoro most of the ones i have seen def are not black thats for sure the same can be said for blue motoro

so that would mean all motoro are called brown rays

motoro have been on the market for years i never herd of the flash names until the ban from Brazil all that tells me is exporters are not making as much money out of rays so they are trying to make motoro sound real cool with fancy names

If people really want to 'rank' spot counts, do it by spots per square inch (or square cm).

my rad id book that i have has like 10 varieties of the motoro variant, its insane. its all the same, just small mutations that make some darker than others, or with more spots etc.

if one is harder to acquire then the other then there's just cause for it to cost more.

I like the names personally. I'm sure there will be a price difference for whichever is in most demand like anything else.

Just a gimick to sell a name to people who want to buy it. Calling a ray 'The Steaming pile of useless Dung' would not change the price I would pay for a MM based on what I see.
