Could I keep a male motoro by himself in this rubbermaid container? Dimensions are 25" high x 31" wide x 52" long. Also whats the growth rate of male motoros?

if this is your first ray i would really advise a glass or acrylic tank or at least something with side views. if something is wrong with your ray then its easiest to detect by red or bloodshot underside. with those tubs you only have a top view and wont get to enjoy your ray as much. let the experts use the tubs for breeding and holding tanks. you need to start off with something to see the ray so if something goes wrong you can see it and correct it. and this is hard to do with a top only view.

That's way too small for a ray. Smallest Rubbermaid I'd consider viable for rays would be the 300...

Really? I just thought since males only get 14-16", the 32" width would be fine.

Well then can I use a 60 gallon glass as a grow out?

a 60 grow out wouldnt last long at all. try a 100+ grow out that will last you in between half a year to a full year. maybe motoro isnt for you have you looked at hystrix or have you looked at the cost of keeping rays for that matter. these arent your normal fish. food isnt cheap and they love to eat. plus they need great water, filtration, and lots of room to move around. i dont think you should cheap out on any of these. i have seen alot of people cheap out on this forum and try cutting too many corners or buy with too small of tank. they usually dont post long in the ray section cause they needed an expensive lesson. so learn from their mistakes and start doing research.

maybe look at your budget and start saving for a larger tank one that you can enjoy and the ray can live in for a life. you dont have a ray yet so start it right and take your time. will make life much easier and you will be happier. being able to see your ray makes it worth it.

Sounds like you've made up your mind but that rubbermaid you're discussing is only 52" long and a 16" wide ray will be at least 32" long.

For comparison purposes I'm expecting to need at least a 10'x4' tank for my Motoro (they're currently in an 8'x3').

Motoro Stingrays get very large in size. My Motoro Stingray was 18 inches wide when I had to have it moved to a bigger home the Ray was 3 years old when we moved it. The biggest Motoro ray that I know of was over 8 feet in diameter this guy was pulled out of the Amazon River in South America wild caught.
I use to feed the ray Night crawlers, Ghost Shrimp, Shrimp (wash good), Black worms, when useing knight crawlers do not use yard caught crawlers must be free of fertilizers used in yards.
Here is a video that shows the stingray at 2 years old the ray is more at the end of the video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bMD3VaxsG9c
