I have cypicromis and have had sucsessful and unsussessful stripping attempts. I quite often get eggs instead of fry. Does anyone know how long the eggs take to hatch? any advice welcome.

hows long u let her hold before striping? U should let her hold for at least 2 1/2 - 3 weeks before striping.
Take the eggs u strip from her and put them in a egg tumbler
 
I've bred blue dolphins, which can be very tricky.

My plan is to let the female hold the eggs until they hatch in her mouth, THEN strip her. I've had much more success doing it that way than stripping her with eggs in her mouth.

That is what i always try to do...my problem is it is difficult to tell if the eggs are hatched or not. do u have any tricks for that?
 
Give it about 3 weeks. Look closely at the mother. You'll see tiny eyes or "little" worms in her mouth. It takes patience when watching her. But once you spot them, it's easy to tell.
 
21 to 28 days is the usual holding time.Just let the fish do it naturally.If you want to keep the fry move her to her own tank
 
What color are the eggs when you do strip her? Are you sure they are fertilized?
