i have an imitation that worked great, no mess, no spill, no sucking, dirty mouth, no swallow, no gagging or whatever it is that you are experiencing

if by now you are still using your mouth as a syphon, it's because you choose to for your own enjoyment

It doesn't cost me not a damn penny, and I've gotten quite good at it.. so time is not a factor either.. as a matter a fact, last night while doing a WC was the first time I sucked once and I was flowing... :D with NO mouth full of water, no gagging, no swallowing.. why change an effective method?!!!

This is about the same as a python, no? Petsmart has these, 50ft for $50.. i may buy one, unless i can find an actual python online...

I got mine awhile ago off amazon.com. It was like $30.

How does it compare to the ones sold at petsmart? petsmart has a sell where i can buy a 50ft hose like the python for $50, the only 50ft ones im finding online are over $65+ shipping..

This happens to me when the tank is low the hose is short and the pressure to get the siphoning on the downside you have to almost literally suck water in your mouth to get going. Getting a mouth full of tank water is not so bad. What is bad is when you have an outdoor tub for turtles that has no filter and the water smells nasty and you suck a mouth full of that water makes you want to barf! LOL

Lol as Newbie gold fish owner I was wondering how you actually syphon the water for changes. Looks like i'm in for some fun. Will tell you all how the first change goes lol (as long as it's not to embarrassing)

Oh c'mon, the wetter the better!!!!;)

I actually bought a gravel vac that comes with a primer bulb, pretty sweet, VERY easy to start the syphon with. Cost me 15.00 at Petco, I thoght of you Fishmamma when I bought it, lol
