Mouth full of tank water....

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
didn't read through the whole thread, but have you tried setting up the water out end pointing to the garden or wherever you plan on letting the water drain to, and then on the other end, hold it up to the filters outtake and let the filter push the water through for you... after about 1 min it should have more than enough suction to be automated...

Thats what i do and no more water in mouth...

Get knocked up and make your husband do it... Thats what I did. Mwahaha

:ROFL:I have no desire to get knocked up!! I'll keep sucking up the water... !!!!

That's basically how mine works. Put one end of hose into tank, plug other end of hose with my finger, squeeze the bulb hard and then let go of it -and as the water is getting pulled into the hose that's in tank I take finger off the end that's over my water bucket. It really is only as difficult as you make it.;) Hey, got a question for fishmamma : Do you ever worry about one of your fish getting pulled into the hose? I mean, 'cause if you're at the other end of the hose, you can't see what's getting into the hose from the tank?

I don't not really, with my other tanks I do because the fish are smaller...

but you know the other day I was doing a WC on my 40 and I turned around to scratch my butt or something of that nature;) and when I turned around 3 of my tetras where just hanging out the freaken tube.. just chillin with not a worry that if they stopped swimming against the suction they would get pulled up into the fracken tube and probably get stuck.. so those little poopers are much stronger than we think...

But in my situation, I have a 25' hose.. so I can't syphon with the tube and hold the hose at the door of my house... so basically I put the tube in the tank, put the glass lid down to hold it.. and suck at the other end which is outside the front door...

I bet your neighbors are still trying to figure out what your doing!!!

happened to me once or twice and then I learned that you only have to suck water halfway through and then it'll keep flowing on its own.
