I'm telling you......BYIT is the only DVD that brought my neighbor to my door complaining about his windows shaking.

I'll get it. I have to get the Nirvana Unplugged DVD that just came out first. Been waiting for that for 10 years.

if you look on the back and it says it say it has DTS or Dolby Digital EX it likely will have very good sound effects.

if you look on the back and it says DTS ES that is about as good as you can get right now and on a good receiver with a nice speaker selection it will sound awesome.;)

Yeah, but Napolean Dynamite is recorded in 5.1 surround and there isn't anything that will test the quality of your system on that movie. It will sound better, but it nothing like "The Matrix" in 5.1 Surround.

5.1 is regular Dolby Digital, old school,a thing of the past... these days usually used as the sound format for lower budget movies and movies that never even saw time in the theaters.Or just when they are trying to cut costs, which is saying something kinda..

Dolby EX is 6.1 and is almost always reserved for movies with alot of action or great sound effects in general.

DTS ES is the best,up to 7.1 channels and is not commonly used as it cost a good deal more to produce the movie using that sound format than regular DTS or even Dolby EX for that matter.A movie with DTS ES is an near garuntee that there will be some great sound effects in the movie, and at the very least (depending on what kind of receiver you have) you will sound like you are truly there on the set.

I believe the first Movies to come out with DTS ES was the Lord of the Rings Trilogy.

When I played the Matrix, it sounded like the guns were going off inside my head. Maybe I am missing out, but I can't imagine much better.
