Moving Bed Filter

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
^ I second the motion.

It is in a pet shop and it is more for show than function. In a retail environment, you have to establish a degree of credibility or your customers will find another retailer who will. If you can't dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bull schmidt.

Wet/dry trickle filter=much better... And also more cost effective/simpler...

i see. i thought it would've been similar to a fluidized sand bed but not as efficient.

the main reason i asked was because my 1st chamber is kinda sorta doing nothing. was trying to think of a use rather than redoing it since it is in-use.

Ah, since you are not building a new one, yeah that would make much better use out of it. Also, it looks like you have no bio filtration in your sump, why is that?

the WD is on the other half of the tank. size was limited though because of the built-in divider in the middle.

That's not a wet/dry mate. Lol. That's submerged bio filtration, which is less effective at bio filtration than filter sponges...

yes that is a wet/dry. I have no idea why they said it wasn't. You have media above and below the water line. And the media above the water line has a drip tray above it to distribute the water over the media. <<<<<<<<<< that defines a wet/dry and that is what you have.
