Hello All,

In about 4 months I will have to move my prized possession about 150mi to where I currently live in San Antonio Tx.. Floor Punch (my clown knife) is about a foot and a half long.. I was wondering if anyone has moved that large of a fish on their own, and how you did it?

Any advice or tips will be greatly appreciated.. I have had him/her about 3 years now and I would die if I were to loose my pal.

Thanks!

CB

Never moved one that far. From where (traffic)? How long will the 150 miles take you? A large (20 gallon) ice chest should work. I have used them to move large fish before, just not that far. If the drive time is less than 3 hrs., it should be fine. Just open the top for a moment about every 30 mins. to let in fresh air.

A large cooler, a battery operated air pump, and a VERY large net. He'll splash like crazy too when you take him out, so anything you don't want wet, MOVE IT! lol I moved a 2 footer before and it wasn't that bad, just make sure you keep an air pump on him, and keep it dark and cool (not over 82 degrees).

He doesn't need an air pump, it's a knife. If it makes you feel better you can get a 12v to 110v converter that plugs into the cig lighter from Walmart or Autozone or Oreily's for about $10 and run a regular pump on it.

They do need air in the water. They don't get 100% of their air from the surface. The airpump also helps to keep the water from getting nasty in transportation.
