Moving Fish Across Country,

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Fish are shipped by carriers such as Fed Ex. The packages are much smaller and lighter than the luggage in a passenger plane.

Fish are shipped by air when quantities are small and because the shipper isn't driving the same route.
Have you had a bad experience with this? Just wondering if you are speaking out of having this happen?

I have many friends who regularly ship fish and have told me about how easy it is to ship fish. I’m open to learning new things though.

Ship then double bagged in a styrofoam box to your local fish store they should be able to watch them for a small fee

However you do it will be expensive. Almost everyone seems to move to florida nowadays and it shows.

Did they ship them as checked baggage? Drop a set a golf clubs on a foam box and let me know how well it holds up.

Checked baggage and shipping via Fed Ex overnight are not the same thing.

Almost all my fish are shipped from texas via cargo and overall ive had very little issues

I understand there will be a cost to shipping. Moving across the country is not cheap, neither is buying a house. But that is still part of the plan. Neither is having 400g+ tanks but that is also part of the plan.

I appreciate constructive criticism, but unlike many, I don’t like having pointless arguments. There are always negative people who refuse to see positive points. I don’t hang out with them or heed their advice. I hang out with and respect movers and shakers. I am not turning a blind eye to a caution, but I will not be driving 4 days with rays in a uhaul.

If you like you can follow the thread and see how it goes. I will be starting it up once I have more concrete evidence that we have a place to move into. As of right now it is too early so just planning ahead.

Sorry to op. Was not trying to hijack but add to this thread.

If driving is such a bad idea why does Ohio Fish Rescue do it all the time?
