Moving tanks around, any suggestions are welcome!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
in the ever expanding fish area - i can’t / don’t want to put any more tanks outside of this basement/den area....

plus got lots of free time too ?

with that said, i’ve cleaned out the closet here...

approx 47” (wish it were 50” for 4’ tank) x 92”

think i’m going to make a L shaped two level shelf rack for these 40g breeder / 75g’s i have here...

i need to make an outlet in here... there is this drain (super up to code) i did... don’t think i need auto w/c -

going to use these tanks for qt/overflow /grow out ....

any thoughts or recommendations are welcome... in regards to maximizing space/tanks here..

shelves coming out...

oh, thinking 28” off the floor for the first with 30” for each level

dr exum dr exum you are a savage! With that room backed up to your monster tank I'd be tempted to tie some of those tanks into your sump... just a thought. That drain will come in handy in that closet for water changes on those new tanks.

i would just need a pump to get it out of the sump.... and let gravity take the water to the sump....

still going to paint this room maybe?

got the basic frame i want i think - gonna make 3 layers of this.... not screwed it yet, kind of a visual guy... gonna anchor to the studs on the walls, going to add an out ler per level...

concerned about vertical bracing in this area....

it’s easy on the outskirts, i’ve got some 2”x10” and 2”x6” ....

essentially i’ve got 3 identical layers of this.

i’ll have to see how it goes.... i can put a post here.... but i don’t want to limit access

think i’m going to put uprights at every stud with vertically placed 2x4 on top of that.

then set the next layer on that...

i think this is why i usually pay or have stuff done.

think i’m $300 in with just lumber and fasteners...

was thinking of making my own 6’x30” stands... as builder wants $2k ea... but maybe not ?

i was looking forward to working on this though ?
