Did you add a trap when you tied into the main stack or are you adding one to the stub in your pic above? Got to keep those sewer gases out of the house!

yea, it’s in the cavity - still gotta, patch , mud, texture , and paint -

got filters in! they are only slightly smaller than my other filter on the bigger tank -

standpipe is an improvement to auto drain out-

getting closer ? - probably 2 weeks or less ?

I see you use penguin bio wheels. I believe they are cartridge filters. How do you like them and how often do you have replace them or do you modify your filters?
Awesome room and very nice tanks btw

Man I’m super jelly over here. Those are some amazing looking sumps. I see your over flows are drilled low in the sump. I hope you can get the pitch you need to get to that drain you have stubbed through the wall.

i know - i was losing sleep last night - my only hope/thought is the water level is above the drain by 2”-4” and gravity? physics ? or something will push it out....

i told him to put bulkheads at 10” - he replied standpipe something.....

worst case i have an extra hole in my sump -

if i do another project with him we are going to have drawings -

@machine79 -

they are fine - cheaper than aqua clear - not as good though - only $25 ea on amazon vs ac110 is ~ $75

i have only had issue with one that’s on a tank with sand in it....

i get the refillable cartridges and put carbon, bio media, or floss in them -

Well in theory if the water level in the sump is above the grade of the drain you could install a 90 facing up on the outside of the bulkheads and then a 90 at your desired water level and would act as a trap. It would be a similar setup to the way I have my drain setup on my sump. On the inside I would use a t at the desired water level and add a small pice of pvc to act as vent on top.

Not the best photo but you can see what I’m talking about. I can take a better one later if you would like and post it up.

that’s what i was thinking - 90 up and another at water level - going to look for info online and maybe try to test it before tanks get here -

thanks for info!

1.

2.
hopefully fish will be cured by time my two tanks get here and can use cycled water to fill mew tanks...

3.
