We get dwarf mudpuppies here, less than 8" or so, usually more like 3 or 4 ". I've kept them with black banded sunfish and other inoffensive fish but they are not strong feeders and fish will out compete them for food, they do love small crayfish and the really small ones will snap up Daphnia magna like candy.
