multiple african arowana

lol what 3 sa aros... nah they tear chunks out each other... ive read an account of a afro com, where they were troublesome for around the first 18mnths more chasing than damaging, then they settled down more and more with age.... its been done and worked, ive heard of two and three working you will be hard pushed to get three sa's to work as well in my personal opinion!

its hard to find information on them. they are hard to keep and ppl would rather get other types so not many ppl have them.

DONT put three silvers in atank together thinking it will be OK please! they will undoubtedly tear sheards from each other... expectily if from a young age i know the goldern rule with SA is 3 or more but thats bollox! it really should be 5 or more!

i dont mind doing a single silver arowana either. id much rather do a silver than a jardini, cuz then i can have tankmates. thanks for the link

I think the magic number (rule of thumb) for silver aros community is 3 or more. I have done it successfully with 2 silver + 1 asia (2 recently added marble cats): so far so good. No torn fins yet - not even nipping

PS: imo, difficult to keep afro and sa aros together. The diet is too different - you gotta try harder.

they get less aggressive towards each other at around 9 inches.
i have one doing very well at 3.5 inches now.
as long as youre willing to give them what they need, theyre very hardy fish.
they are also aggressive towards any other aro.
