IN A PLACE
Alright, here goes:

After visiting egon's home I was inspired to build a drip system for my 4 tanks. Since I live in southern California, I have to deal with chloramines. Step one of the project was to find a whole house water filter. After a lot of research, I went with Pelican Water filters. Nice people and they built mine specifically to remove chloramine from the water.

Here are some pics of the set up.

After a week of letting the carbon get settled, the tap water still has a chlorine odor. It tested positive on test strips too. The water company is coming out to test for chloramine on Friday. Stay tuned.

The water company came by to check the water. After the filter, I have Chlorine: .4 ppm, ammonia .48 ppm. Unfiltered water is 1.7 ppm chlorine and ammonia .44 ppm. Pelican is sending over more test kits and then they will reassess my filter needs. It seems like the water needs more contact time with the carbon.

p.s.--I hate chloramine

Cool stuff... What did the set up $et you back?
Forecasted GPM?

the filter was $700, plumbing another $200. I will most likely drip 2gph into each tank. The filter is rated for 10gpM. I'm trying to pave the way for socal MFKers to use drip systems safely.
