Muscle milk anyone?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Correction.

I did not mean for it to read as if you are to eat the potatoes at night. Minimize carb intake late in the evening...unless you are working out late.

Creatine and 100% Whey Protein worked for me as well. 4 years ago I was a skinny 5'6" 120lb guy. I decided to hit the gym 3-4 times a week while taking creatine and whey religiously. I also downed 2-3 eggs every other day.

To cut to the chase, I gained 35lbs of muscle mass in a year. So yeah, Behemoth is right. For the past 2 years though I was going to the gym lightly due to university. I go once maybe twice a week. I developed a beer gut and I'm now 160lbs.

Needless to say, I'm planning to get back to the gym and take muscle milk in addition to the multivitamin that I am taking. Target weight by summer is 150lbs with maybe 12-15% body fat.

By the way I have a poor diet due to being in college. That and beer...

in the uk we have soething called nourishment lol as a "light" intake i use these before gym sessions,
its 3rd in from the right, i drink all these except the slim fast LOL
i gotta get back into training also, im at uni, and i havent bothered at all

It's real simple.

Diet. Diet. Diet.

You get that right and the workout matters very little...as long as you lift heavy.

Don't worry you will never get big like a bodybuilder...unless you are doing the things that they are doing which includes more then muscle milk.

1 gram of protein a day per lean pound of body mass.

1 gallon of water everyday at a minimum.

ONLY two shakes a day. (I prefer one for breakfast and one post workout. I like to include dextrose in my post workout but thats a personal preference.)

Chicken Breast, Fish, Chicken, Fish, Turkey, Chicken Breast.

Eat a hypo-caloric food at night such as green beans or cabbage.

Throw in red potatoes or sweet potatoes...

You will see some results.

But if I only weighed a buck fifty...I would eat my butt off and hit the gym like a mad man. You probably have a high metabolism and just need to stoke the fire with good calories.

(I have been working out 15 years and have seen literally thousands of 150 lb guys wanting to get cut or get big on the latest gimmick. Two things that I have found that work...Creatine and protein. The other thing is called "hard d#$% work")

this is pretty good advice......

white chicken, tuna, egg whites ,white chicken, tuna, egg whites, white chicken, tuna, egg whites, white chicken, tuna, egg whites

if you want to be ripped keep away from FATS

immediately after weight workouts eat something like gerber rice ceral ( baby food) to replace the glycogen you have depleted.....an hour after weights more protein..............

lots of water...........

supplement with some clean amino acids if anything

this will make you ripped and produce real muscle that will stay with you.................

lots of hard workouts and lots of serious recovery time

just my 2 cents.............( i benched 415 at bw of 195 )

personally never tried muscle milk.ived tried cyto gainer and muscle juice.cyto was amazing tasting which had like 660 calories per serving.muscle juice was ok tasting but had like 1000+ calories per serving.

all the basics would work.protein, creatine, multi vitamin along with a god diet.

As a certified trainer and chef, looks like you want to gain some weight right? Trying to stay lean and gain weight is tough on a lot of people. I usually don't recommend a "diet" for gaining weight. Just eat. If you want to be ripped, just make sure you're eating natural foods. That's the best. When I say natural, I mean less processed foods like cake or meatloaf. Stick with fruits, vegetables, and cut pieces of meat.

Muscle Milk is good. I've only had it once. It tasted really sugary, but I forgot what the label said. Right now, I take Isopure and BSN products. No-Xplode and Haldrone for my before I work out...Creatine and Glucostamine mixture and a Protein shake post work out.

Depending on your metabolism, I suggest drinking a protein shake before bed time. Your metabolism will slow down as you sleep, which helps break down the protein slowy.

Some of us can't get in 6 meals a day like mags suggests, so I came up with this program(again...this works for my body type). The best thing to do is have a good breakfast of healthy carbs (oatmeal, fruits, cereal, and potatoes). This will give you your energy for the day. I don't believe in the low carb dieting crap, just because I really belvieve that it depends on your genetics. I gained more weight on a low-carb diet than a moderate carb diet. Lunch, I'll eat more protein and vegetables like Chicken breast or Canned Tuna with some colorful vegetables (yellow squash, carrots, broccoli, etc). Snack time is a bannanna and a protein shake. Dinner will consist of a Steak or Chicken breast with some green vegetables (green beans, broccoli, spinach, etc).

huh?

at night (or when you go to sleep) is when your body starts repairing itself, a protein shake before you go to sleep will give your body the material (protein) it needs to repair the tears in your muscle tissue from a good workout.

reason is not because it breaks down more slowly (really dont get that) but because its available right then and there, then it can be utilized effiently.

So pretty much, Just eat healthy, and before I workout, drink a shake. and before I go to sleep drink another.

I tried the muscle milk with actual milk and it was wayy to sweat, so I'm just gona take it with water.

gona take before and after pics when I get home, with measurements, and how much fat I have.

Just started about a week or two ago.

havnt used the muscle milk, but used to use other stuff about a year or two ago.

monday-friday I workout,

monday, wend, friday are weights ( with 20 min of warmup running, or walking )

tuesday and thursday are slow days, but are about 40 mins of running, so cardio?

~ matt

If you want to gain weight you need to change your routine. First off running or walking before excerise for 20min in not a good choice. Your testerone level is higher after you finish working out and this would be the better time to run, creating more lean mass and keeping your muscles pumping. Also, if you are looking to gain mass stop cardio. Or only do 15-20min after hitting the weights. You need to hit the weights harder and change the routine every 3-5 weeks. Depending on what you want to do as far as goals for each muscle your program will change.

I work out 5-6 days a week and for 1hour and half each time. I have gone up in gains like crazy in the last two years. While staying cut. Try super pump 250 by gasapri for a pre-work out drink and to create more lean mass.

I'm not looking to gain that much weight, only about 10lbs more than I am now which isnt hard for me, I can get that in about 3-4 weeks. I'm just trying to get cut to hell. I take kickboxing along with workingout, so It shouldnt be to hard to get in great shape.
