My 1 year old Alligator Gar does not want to eat

I've had my gator gar for about 1 year already. A couple of weeks ago, I noticed it would spit out everything I gave it. I figured it might just be full. I've been trying to feed it every few days to see if it would start eating again, but the behavior has not changed. It's been almost two weeks since it last ate anything. How long can a gar go without eating? Any similar experiences?

Prior to this our usual feeding routine was 2-3 times a week. I feed it frozen sardines, anchovies, scad, and mackerel.

Have you checked your water parameters? Ammonia, nitrite, nitrate? Also I would check pH. I have had gars stop eating if the pH in their system has dropped too low, once that was corrected their appetite came back.

My experience with gars when they stopped eating wasn’t good. In the end they passed on.
When my Florida gar broke it’s back, it stopped eating. It lasted 2+ months without food before it passed. You have a long shot in correcting ur issue
