my 11" red belly pacu

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
ronnie i agree with that.

We need to do somthing about all the careless people with pacus in 55s and anything under 500 gal for that matter. like a big sign by their name that reads I HAVE A FISH IN A TANK THAT WILL BE BIGGER THAN THE TANK. pacus have no place in private aquariums as far as im concerned. with the exception of people who can properly house one FOR LIFE!

Kinda like a long nose gar in a 90 gallon that can reach probably over 54":screwy: hhhmm lets blast the Pacu owner instead:ROFL: So whats the difference between his Pacu and your Long nose Gar?

Even better you have one in a 90 and seems that is never gonna house your long nose for life... Here's another one

But maybe i should have asked what you were going to do when your fish outgrows your 90....? Instead of ridicule maybe we should be informing people and looking at OUR OWN signatures with fish that get over 5' in them. Suggestions are better than ridicule don't you FEEL the same?

My fish are going to my buddies Geo Thermal pond.. I have two pangasius he is waiting for and 3 pbass that he is diein for!! I am palnning a pond in my back yard.. But i am planning for silvers :) of course i will house a few others but with the heating bill i am probably going to have to drop all my tanks:) except for maybe a grow out 150.... It'll have a viewing window and all that nice stuff.. Nice low trees for the food to land on hehehe...

I knew some one was going to call me on this:ROFL: . my uncle has a PRIVATE pond stocked with bass and bluegill and he asked me if i could get him a gar or two for his pond. I know how big the gar will get, but he is going in an established private pond.

i agree with necroconis. we do want we can until the next phase with fish keeping, i too have pacus both are in a 180 for now until i finish my back yard pond

i have a 5mos old 9-10in in a 65g they do grow fast.i think if figure at least 3ft wide tank in the near future you should be fine.I'm looking at a 300g wide right now.and looking in to building at least a 1500g pond in my basement.just love these fish.i think with a little planing and ambition they can be given a good home.....

now this sounds a little more like it! Instead of everyone trying to blame someone else I see you are all looking at your fish list going, hey when did I get a fish that could be over 4-6ft. one day. I know most everyone in here has their fish best interest in mind, but sometimes a pretty fish makes us forget about requirements. I think for everyone that has all these monster fish the pond section is surely negelected on this forum. i think everyone that doesn't plan on getting a gigantic aquarium should be hitting up the pond section regularly for ideas and help. there's some good info there and in the diy section. I'd love to see everyone able to keep the fish that they dream of keeping, so let's all help each other!

i also might be building a pond soon if i still dont get rid of my pacu's (selling them)
