My 1500gal plywood build (pics)

Hey tandy, you might need to take the pleco out. It's rasping teeth will wear down the liner. If they damage acrylic, a liner will be nothing. Especially at it's size.

You have down a wonderful job!! It's not easy trying to smooth out a pond liner. I used a liner in a rubbermaid 100 gallon stock oval in shape. The liner is not smooth.

I can sympathize with the hot water too. After filling up the 100, I had no hot water to do water changes on the other 6 tanks. Even after 45 mins. had lukewarm water and could only do 3.

What type of water heater and room heater are you using? Manufacturers? watts used on the room heater?

Thanks.

Room heater is just a sunbeam space heater and for the pond a biotherm 1000watt heater which really only works during water changes

Heres a quick update. The driftwood is releasing tannis into the water turning it a yellowish brown. I added in 2 filter socks filled with carbon and plan on doing a 750gal waterchange sometime this week.

Heres a pic of the alpine underwater LED moonlight, it is photosensitive so it turns on as soon as the day lights turn off at 8pm. It actually lights things up alot more than the picture suggests.

Here's an idea... don't know if it would work.. but why don't you find some fired ceramic items? Or find a pottery/ceramic store and ask for their broken items.

It's the same material as the ceramic rings, and may be cheaper.

wow that really is a good idea. Ill def look into it.

I think even clay pots would work as well.

Sure you could if you really wanted to. I never thought of building a indoor pond before I found this site....and now look what I went and did. Lol
