With the GE series, Make sure it's NOT the kitchen/bath because that contains mildew inhibitors. The GE silicone 2 I suggested is 100% silicone.
Again, the OP started a thread about a leaking fish tank. Start a Respect thread if you want to talk about respect. Those who type out of their arse mentioning "several threads" without any threads to prove that what I suggest contains mildew is speaking out of their arse imho. So be prepared for the world wide web.

Hello; I have already posted excerpts from four threads from this forum. I am sure there are many more but I picked four examples. I believe that you are wrong about the type of silicone. I also feel that your comments were out of order. Instead of making it right you have proceeded to make things worse with additional uncalled for comments. Seeing as it is unlikely that I will be able to discuss the insult with you in person, my hope is that one of the moderators will ban you from the forum.

+ 1

I was thinking the same thing. We could have demanded that he show proof of why he said it was ok. We could have insulted him for not. I'm not sure where he grew up or how he was raised to think that's an acceptable way to communicate. I hope he learns how to show respect for other people. I have to wonder if he so easily disrespects another person how he could respect a fish as a living thing and give it the care it needs.

I used ge bath and shower silicone with mildew resistant whatever. At the time i just picked up a 55gal on CL for 50$ i used almost the whole tube resealing it. I waited 30min to dry and filled it up, put the fish in immedially after and nothing died, but looking back i should have been more concerend about cycling!! Dont get hung up so much on the details and forget the basics!

No harm no foul with me and ive learned ALOT since then, which is the point! Tank held for a year and nothing died, just sold it for 80$ yesterday!

Just be urself on this forum and if ur a dic* i think theres a forum for that too!

What I suggested to the OP has no mildew inhibitors.

No you did not and if you did, your format was so horrible I can not find any quotes. Just because you almost killed all your fish just not justify "all" GE 2 silicones kill fish. Clearly you can not comprehend what you are reading so I figure you can not understand what I suggested to help the OP. But the silicone I suggested, once again GE 2 window/door/attic/basement should work out fine for the OP to reseal his tank and this does not have any mildew inhibitors.

GE Silicone I, stay away from the II. According to the GE website, BOTH the Window & Door and Kitchen & Bath Silicone II's have mold inhibitors that are a no-no for aquariums, the GE II's that are part of the "Surpreme" series don't show as having mold inhibitors but not worth the risk. Go with GE Silicone I.

Are we done now?
No we are not done because what is highlighted in red is not true.
GE silicone 2 window and door does not have a Bio-seal label nor a reference to mildewcide.
Let me show you what the website states with photos. Maybe this would help you better undertstand why my original suggestion I believe will not harm the fish I care for.

This is window and door.

This is Kitchen and bath with a reference to mildewcide.

OK, now I am done.
